Healthy Sleeping: Do’s and Don’ts
Do’s:
- Try to sleep at the same time every single day.
- Don’t do any work in your bedroom.
- Keep the temperature in a stage where you feel comfortable about it.
- Take some time, at least one hour before you sleep, to get relaxed…for example by having a massage, having a warm bath or meditate.
- Only go to your bed after you feel sleepy.
- Exercise in the morning, after you wake up.
Don’ts:
- Never sleep with your empty stomach or even too full.
- Don’t drink caffeine before going to bed. Caffeine will cause sleeping difficulties.
- Don’t drink alcohol before going to bed as it might make you want to urinate and disturb your sleep.
- Don’t discuss anything complicated before sleeping.
- Never watch TV on the bed.
- Try not to read on your bed. Sometimes a book can make you so curious that you wouldn’t want to put it down before finishing the whole chapters.
- Don’t take any sleeping pills without your doctor’s prescription.
