Exercising is good, having a good shape is great but just don’t overdo it.
If you do, you might be at risk for a problem called female athlete triad, a combination of three conditions: disordered eating, amenorrhea, and osteoporosis.
Disordered eating means that your body is not getting healthy nutrition. Amenorrhea is the absence of menstrual periods for longer than 6 months. And, osteoporosis is a weakening of the bones due to the loss of bone density and improper bone formation.
So, how to avoid having it?
Check out these tips below:
- Keep track of your periods by having a calendar to check out if you miss any menstrual periods or not.
- Don’t ignore injuries. If you have one, make sure to check it out with your doctor.
- Don’t skip meals or snacks
- Eat healthily
