A Shoulder to Cry on…

Remember my posting about a crying therapy in Japan? Yes, according to some researches, emotional tears can reduce your stress levels.

If you happen to have too much burden or having things out of control or feeling like you’re doing all wrong, crying might help.

Just let it out. Along with the tears rolling down on your cheeks, the burden and stress might also slip away.

So, Sheryl, if you think you need to cry, just do it. There’s no harm in it. It might even feel refreshed after a good cry.

Sometimes you need a shoulder to cry on, sometimes you don’t. Maybe you can use some sad movies like those Japanese to help you cry.

Say No to Amateur Plastic Surgery

Amateur plastic surgery may be cheap, but it’s not always guaranteed. It might cost your life.

Amateur Plastic Surgery – Avoid It
By Ricardo Silva

Amateur plastic surgery is a nasty little secret in the world of cosmetic surgery. It can lead to disastrous results and you should avoid it like the plague or risk great bodily harm.

Amateur Plastic Surgery – Avoid It

Some people often look at plastic surgery as a low risk method to look better. In many cases this is true, but that does not mean you should treat it as anything less than a medical procedure. Any cosmetic procedure inherently involves changes to your body, a form of trauma. Given the fact you only have one body, do you really want to take chances with it? Many people do with disastrous results.

Food Craving and PMS

The term PMS stands for Premenstrual Syndrome, a familiar acronym used to describe a cyclical challenge with a confusing array of physical, emotional or behavioral responses experienced by an amazingly large number of women every month in the days and even weeks before their menstrual periods begin.

But, the thing about PMS that women are mostly having problem is FOOD CRAVING which leads to gaining weight.

Actually there are ways to help you control this big desire to eat:

  • satisfy the salt urge with one intensely salty — and low-calorie — pickle instead of with a high-calorie bag of chips
  • get a small, rich candy bar or small portion of dark chocolate or sweet fruits for your need of sugary snacks
  • try eating up to six small meals a day instead of three larger ones

Have a nice try!

Find Yourself Again…

There is always time when you feel like losing yourself. You take a halt and contemplate. You give yourself questions that you don’t always know how to answer, wish that someone out there can give such satisfying answers or you don’t even want to know the answers at all.

You also try to search within yourself, within your history of life. Looking for reasons why you do things. Why do you like reading? What kind of books do you prefer reading? Why do you go to the gym? What makes you smile?

Hoping to find yourself again, from the answers.

Some can’t, some can.

Benny, even though he has more Q (read: questions) instead of A (read: answers), he seemed to find himself again. His old funny, humorous self that he thought had disappeared somewhere out there.

Benny managed to find himself back. And, he promised that his humor will not be forced. His humor will be a product of a happy soul. He will just be himself.

Yes, Benny, you’re right on that. I also believe that by being yourself, no lies, no pretense, is a lot better. It’s healthier.

WTG, Benny!

Reading and Your Health

I’m a person who likes reading a lot. I have my own collections at home, not to mention that I also visit a library for books that I don’t have.

I find reading a very interesting to do. Especially when I read fictions. Any kind of fictions. I can get me travel in the imaginary world. It’s fun!

And, apparently, reading has something to do with health. Reported by readingagency.co.uk:

Recreational reading exercises the imagination, gives access to information and provides opportunities for relaxation, enjoyment and social interaction.

Reading empowers the individual. It promotes personal development, supports self-expression and personal choice and results in creative independent learners who have an understanding of self, of others and of wider social issues.

These benefits mean that reading has a significant role to play in combating some of the causes of illness, improving health and keeping people well by contributing to a general sense of well being.

So, if you like to read, it means that you’re enhancing your health.

You can take a look at Beth’s collections for more idea on what to read. She has arranged them by height. ;)

Thanks, Beth, for sharing them. BTW, the one by Stephen King is a good book.

Have a nice reading, y’all!

Healthy Blogger This Week!

This dear Mom has just gone to a doctor. She claimed that she had a problem with anxiety, guilt and worry.

But, for us here, she’s the healthiest person we could find this week. She’s our HEALTHY BLOGGER THIS WEEK.

Why her? Why we think she’s that healthy?

Why not? She made a good decision to visit the doctor. Only a healthy person can find out that she needs to visit one.

The unhealthy one is the one who denies that he or she is having a health issue.

So, for us all here, she deserves the award.

And, yes, Mom, we’re all here for you…

Hugs Might Heal

Death is not always easy to accept. Especially a sudden one.

My GrandPa passed away out of heart attack. And, it was hard for me to accept it.

It was summer, ten years ago. I decided to stay with my GrandMa for awhile. My reason of staying was to help her heal her wounded heart. But then, I realized, I needed to heal mine, too.

I spent the whole summer there. My GrandMa and I spent lots of time together. Most of the time, when we remembered GrandPa, either we cried or kept in silence while hugging each other.

I wrote once about Coping with Grief. I should’ve added hugs there.

I believe hugging can help during the healing and accepting process. It did me and GrandMa. We took out all the pain by hugging.

I hope it can help Jessica in Chicago, Illinois. She has just got some bad news that depressed her. Her colleague has just passed away out of heart attack, at the age of 50. Yes, that must be a shocking news.

It was, for me, when I found out the death of my GrandPa.

So, Jessica, hope you’ll stop crying soon. Get some hugs…

The Doctor Said, “No more Bicycling!”

My dear friend, Tracy, called me last night. She was just checking me up. Well, she said, she missed me. I kinda miss her, too, actually. But, she must have missed me more. :)

Her phone call really made me laugh. The excitement even made me get a sudden insomnia (I have never had insomnia before, trust me!).

Tracy told me her session with her doctor. She said she almost got mad at him for telling her not to bike anymore. FYI, she goes to her office by bicycle. 15 miles away.

She’s been asking me to do the same, bike to work. But, too bad, I’m not a biking person. I’m more like a jogging kind of girl. However, don’t tell me to run or even walk to the office. By the time I reach the building, I’ll get cramps on my legs. It’s 30 miles away from home. I’d rather jog in a park!
Anyway, back to Tracy. So, her doctor told her not to bike to office anymore.

She said, “Why not? It’s been making me healthy! I need to do it. I want it.”

“It won’t be healthy anymore,” said the doctor.

“Does it have something to do with the irregularity of my periods lately?”

The doctor nodded.

“But, when can I start biking to work again?” asked Tracy.

“9 or 10 months from now, I guess,” answered the doctor.

“That long?!” Tracy got totally surprised.

“Yes, you’ll give birth within the next 8 months. And I think you’d better wait for another one or two months after that to start biking again.”

“Are you saying that I’m pregnant?!” She got more surprised.

And, so was I.

Tracy’s been waiting for this pregnancy since 6 years ago. Her first child is 8 years old now.

Wow! Congratulations, Tracy, Ben (her husband), Kelly (her daughter). Can’t wait ’til we all can see the healthy baby who’s been accompanying her mom biking to work for the last 1 month.
