- Don’t touch! It’s better for you not to touch the person getting the electrical shock for he/she might be in contact with the electrical source. Touching might pass the current to you.
- Turn off the source of electricity. Or, if you can’t, move the source away from you and the affected person. Make sure to use a nonconducting object made of wood or cardboard.
- Check for signs of circulation in the person. Is he/she breathing, coughing or making a move? If no sign shows, start giving CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) right away.
- Lay the person down to prevent shock. And, it’s better to place the head a bit lower than the trunk, both legs elevated.
- Call 911 if he/she is unconscious, numb, tingling or not breathing.

I did! Yes, I really did. I thought it was a boring kind of sport. And I even didn’t consider it as a sport.
But then, I had to change my mind about it.
My cousin, Elga, and her husband, Jim, invited me to join them in a golf course. Of course, I refused, politely, while thinking…what on earth makes them think I would love golf?
But the lovely couple insisted me. I had a bad thought that they were just trying to torture me (I didn’t get along perfectly with Elga back then when we were kids ).
Unfortunately, my Mom found out about it and claimed me as a very impolite cousin if I kept saying NO, THANKS.
So, I went. I hit. And, I liked it!
I felt so silly for turning down their invitation at the first place.
What makes me like it?
Well, golf is a kind of sport (yes, now I consider it as a sport, an interesting one, indeed) that needs full concentration. You have to hit the ball strategically and powerfully. A strong stamina and a great concentration are crucial.
Now, I am a golfer. An amateur. But who knows, maybe one day, I can beat Tiger Wood!
BTW, here are some things you need to prepare if you feel like trying to golf:
- A golf bag along with one set of complete set of golf sticks (golf clubs). These are not cheap, I know. But, you still can get the ones with good qualities and reasonable price. You only need to do a detailed survey.
- A pair of qualified and comfortable golf shoes. In the driving range, you can use any shoes but in the field, golf shoes are a must. Why? Because these shoes are specially designed to be grass-friendly. So, they won’t cause any damage to the filed.
- Golf balls, golf gloves, golf clothing and other golf equipments and accessories.
Have a nice try!

I’m impressed by Lynne’s last two sentences at her blog written on the 19th of October:
If we’re going with this metaphor then I figure that I didn’t come this far only to turn around and go back to where I started. I want to see the view from the top of the mountain!
I believe those should be the words that any dieters must keep in mind.
Many dieters stop their effort and finally end up in frustration just because they find out that they go back to where they started. And, worse, they give up!
Glad to know that Lynne made the best decision and is committed to her goal.
And, that makes Lynne our HEALTHY BLOGGER THIS WEEK!
Not only she managed to be on track but she can also inspire others dieters and weight watchers!
Congrats, Lynne, you deserve it!

The best time to enjoy the freshness of water melon is in a hot day. The liquid fades your thirst away. It even tastes a lot better if you have it cold.
But, you know what…based on a study, the best way to consume water melon is when it’s not cold.
Compared to the one put in the fridge, water melon which is kept in the room temperature contains 139% extra beta-carotene and extra 40% licopene.
After the crop/harvest, nutrition in the water melon keeps increasing until 14-21 days. The cold temperature (around 5°C) stops the nutrition addition process. It even eases the decomposition.

Most of the time, when you have to face an uneasy situation, instead of thinking positively, you end up thinking negatively.
Don’t you know that it only adds stress? Don’t you know that it’s only making it worse?
So, if you happen to be in an edgy situation, try to only have positive thoughts.
How?
Check out these 6 important things to do to be positive:
1. Give some time for you to contemplate. At least 30 minutes. It’s the time for you to understand what really happens. Ask yourself, do you really have to worry about the matter? Or, actually, it’s just something unimportant that is not worth to bother you.
2. Try not to talk to yourself. Do you know that 80% self-conversation are negative and irrational? It only makes you feel bad about yourself. The result is that you become more depressed, disappointed, or even frightened. Put in your mind…the thoughts might just be simply thoughts that might not happen at all!
3. Write down all your thoughts after you calm down. Afterwards, go through each point and write down on the side of the point all the alternatives that might happen, both the negative and positives ones.
4. Make the best decision. Don’t run away from your problems. Get the piece of paper on which you have written all your thoughts. Read once again. Then, choose the problems that really need to be solved. With a clearer mind, you can decide what to do in the wisest way.
5. Get relaxed. Do whatever you like doing. Enjoy it. And, keep telling yourself, “Everything will be just fine.”
6. Be optimistic. If you have tried all the steps yet none seems to work, just smile and again, tell yourself, “I will definitely find the way to solve it, tomorrow!”

Last weekend, I visited my Mom and Dad. I suddenly missed them. It wasn’t a planned visit. I just showed up at their porch and surprised them.
Mom got me her most delicious cookies. That made me feel like a kid. Yet, I wouldn’t mind. I’d rather feel like an 8 years old and be able to grab her cookies whenever I passed in the kitchen.
I got there on Saturday, at 3 pm. I prepared dinner for them. Then, I went to bed. At least, I tried to. But I couldn’t close my eyes. I wanted to read but I wasn’t interested in any books on the shelves.
I went out of the room. Sitting down in the living room, I taking a glance at each picture Mom put it on the fireplace. These pictures reminded me of those of my childhood. Now, some of them are in my room. The rest are in the attic.
FYI, I’m not the kind of person who gets freaked out easily. The dark attic didn’t frighten me at all.
So, I started climbing the stairs…on the forth step, I heard a sound of an opened door.
“Nadine…” called Mom.
“Yes, Mom, I’m here…” answered me.
She came to me, asking what I was doing there. I told her that I wanted to check out my pictures I put in the attic. At first she seemed to disapprove what I was about to do. But then, she thought that it was a great idea.
Two minutes later, there was I, in the attic, looking at old pictures, with my dear Mom.
I looked back at the early years of my existence on earth. It was beautiful. Looking back was beautiful, too.
This reminded me of Nikki, one of the Healthy Bloggers This Week! In some and other ways, she was also looking back. That made her chosen to be awarded.
Have you looked back?

If you happen to get herpes, don’t panic. This article can help you.
7 Ways to Attack Herpes
By Neva Howell
Herpes Simplex Virus, and particularly genital herpes, is said to affect one in four sexually active adults. I personally think the numbers might be higher, due to under-reporting of what is, for some, a very embarassing situation.
Currently, the only prescription medication we hear about is Valtrex and even then, you hear that nothing can cure herpes and that, even with medication, you can still spread it.
If that won’t put a damper on your lovelife, I don’t know what will.
