Deal clears cervical cancer vaccine

“ONE million Australian girls and women will be vaccinated against cervical cancer after the Howard Government resolved a pricing dispute with drug company CSL yesterday.”

“Stephen said the vaccine for the human papillomavirus — or HPV — will be provided free. The state’s Vaccine for Children program is funded by the federal government and private insurers and offers immunizations for a variety of diseases at no cost to children through age 18.”

Simple Diet Tricks

  1. Imagine the food that you really really wish to eat
  2. Get rid of that imagination and replace it with your goal: to be able to wear 2-size-smaller jeans, for example
  3. Stick to the goal and imagine a good smell that’s not related to food, such as an aroma of beach, flower or grass plus imagine yourself looking good in that 2-sizesmaller jeans
  4. Write down the aroma on a piece of paper. Keep one in your wallet or stick it on your fridge. Read it whenever your desire of food comes.

These tricks are suggested by Marika Tiggemann from the Flinders University, Adelaide.

As your friend in health, we, at Healthifica.com realize that you might need to be reminded. You need someone to ring a bell for you that you must take care of yourself, you should be in the healthful tracks.

Blow the Candle out

To add romance to your home, you can light up some candles.

But, from now on, get some candles made of soy wax instead of paraffin wax. It’s healthier.

Here are some differences between both types:

  • The smoke of paraffin wax contains carcinogen, a substance or agent that promotes cancer while soy wax contains no dangerous substance.
  • The smoke of paraffin wax might also cause allergies or asthma, on the contrary, soy wax is not dangerous to your health
  • Paraffin wax contains other chemical substances to make the candle smell good but soy wax doesn’t, yet it smells good anyway.

Isn’t it great to be able to enjoy yourself and burn calories at the same time?

U.S. Hospital Pulls off Quintuple Kidney Transplant

“It took 12 surgeons, six operating rooms and five donors to pull it off, but five desperate strangers simultaneously received new organs in what hospital officials are describing as the world’s first quintuple kidney transplant.”

“The patients and donors, including one from Canada, were doing fine, said Eric Vohr, a spokesman at the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center. The donor-recipient pairs were not related and did not meet before Tuesday’s operations.”
