Steaming Your Vegetables

Steaming is a great thing to be done if you prefer to preserve the flavour, colour and texture of your vegetables.

Here are some important notes on steaming:

  • Cut the vegetables the same size so they’ll cook evenly.
  • The liquid never should boil dry.
  • The liquid should never touch the food.
  • The steam must be able to circulate freely.
  • Some vegetables need only a minute or two until they’re done, potatoes take 15-30 minutes.

Bubble Bath before Sleeping

Whenever I feel extremely exhausted after working almost all day long, I always take a moment to get relaxed before going to sleep. How is it?

Mostly I take a bubble bath.

And not just a bubble bath. It’s a warm tender bubble bath.

Normally I do it with aromatherapy candles. I choose lavender to help me relieve stress and sandalwood to get me relaxed. Also, I cut off the phone, turn out the TV and put “DO NOT DISTURB” notice on the door. That way, my son and Mom know that I wish to have a moment of my own. And, what excites me most is that I can play with the bubbles without having anyone thinking that I’m childish. Hahhaha!

Soon after this wonderful relaxation, I get out of the bathroom with a cheerful look and ready to have a great good night sleep.

Find Peace…

In life, if we can’t be in peace…life will be unbearable.

You won’t feel the joy of living. You simply live without living.

But, how do you find peace?

Let me tell you something, don’t ever expect to find peace out of yourself. First, you’d better find it within yourself. Why? Because, if you can’t find it within yourself, there’s no chance for you to be able to find it anywhere else.

Marvin Gaye said so. And, that’s totally true.

But, how? What can you do to find peace within yourself?

Try yoga, try meditation. Or, simply get a light music, close your eyes, feel the beauty of the sound. Or, get some aromatherapy, feel the nice smell, let it get into your head, your mind, and your feeling.

Easy, isn’t it?

Health and Sickness

Have you ever heard the line above, said by Thomas Fuller, a British physician from the 18th century.

Well, that’ totally normal. You take health for granted. But then when you’re not feeling well, then you realize that you should have taken care of yourself.

So, now, rather than waiting ’til sickness comes, why don’t you start doing all you can to keep healthy?

The sooner, the better.

I totally agree with John Keats. Health is my expected heaven. Without health, I feel like being in a temporary hell.

But, imagine, you’re healthy, full of strength, fresh. You feel like you can do everything. You can achieve your goals. You can spend quality times with your loved one.

That is heaven, or what?

That is absolutely heaven.

Health is, for me, heaven.

Pilates of which the principles are to focus on keeping the body balanced and providing support for the spine, can be a good help for parkinson’s patients in overcoming the tremors, slow movement, and body stiffness.

What makes Pilates a good choice for Parkinson’s patients is because of its adaptability and focus on moving properly rather than quickly.
