Why Athletes Should Not Be In A Low-Carb Diet

In the matter of should we approach a low carb diet or not the opinions are divided. One claim in favor of low carb diets is that humans did not evolve to eat modern food based on grains, starches, or refined sugar. This type of alimentation determine the body to produce excess amounts of the hormone insulin therefore the body stores than rather burn fat causing obesity and heart disease, cancer or diabetes.

Nutritionists in favor of low carb diet claim that humans evolved eating mainly meat and the current world wide problem of obesity is due to the assumption that the low-fat approach is healthier. They also claim that people have been encouraged to eat more carbohydrates, which stimulate appetite and more eating causing overweight. (more…)

The Inside Story on Waxing

You may be surprised to learn that the concept of waxing to remove bodily hair can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt where the wives of Royalty and the well-to-do looked at hair removal as a way to remain young and forever beautiful. That concept continued throughout the world with the Greeks and Turks as well.

The dictionary defines waxing as: ‘a temporary method of hair removal which removes the hair at the root. New hairs do not grow back in the waxed area for three to eight weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet’. But don’t be fooled into thinking that waxing is for women only. Today’s fashion trends have men waxing their bodies for cosmetic reasons, and many athletes such as bodybuilders and swimmers have been waxing for years. (more…)

Mothers’ Advice On Weight Loss Is Sound

It is well known that working out with weights, especially when trying to lose unwanted pounds has a lot of important benefits. Calories are burned by intense workout even after ending it, because your metabolism is being elevated for up to 40 hours after your actual workout. Metabolism being simulated, it will continue to burn calories for a long time, but first you must workout pretty hard. Another benefit is that carbohydrates power your intense training sessions, and the longer the session, the more carbohydrates are depleted and so the more calories and fat are burned after the workout.

For example, remember that one study showed that 15 exercises per month could lead to over 20 pounds of fat burned over a year if the exercises are 50 minutes long at 50 percent of oxygen uptake. Other important aspect is while you are training your body adds some leas muscle, which are “metabolically active”. This means that muscles are able to burn calories after your workout is complete. Some studies have shown that for one pound of muscle added, your body burns another 40 or more calories per day while not exercising, so for an extra 10 pounds of muscle, one pound of fat will be burnt within a week. Tips for Hair Sugaring

How sweet it is! Sugaring is a process that is similar to waxing, but the ingredients are different. Sugaring gets it name from the fact that wax is replaced with a mixture of sugar and honey. The resulting goo sticks to the hairs and not to the skin. In the end, you still end up ripping out you hair by the roots, so pain levels run about the same as waxing.

Most people find that sugaring works best on hair that grows on the upper lip and the bikini line. It’s a relatively messy process, so do it in the bathroom or some other area where clean-up will not be a problem. Regardless of where you do it, the results last for two to six weeks. Actually, fine hair will start to show around two weeks after the procedure is done, and the thicker, darker hair growth becomes apparent about four weeks later or so. (more…)

Some kids need the presence of somebody otherwise will cry simply.Crying without any cause is habitual in some babies. Eventhough crying is considered as normal it may worry the family members.Since the reasons for crying ranges from simple causes to serious causes it should not be ignored and hence exact cause has to be identified and managed accordingly.
