Pilates of which the principles are to focus on keeping the body balanced and providing support for the spine, can be a good help for parkinson’s patients in overcoming the tremors, slow movement, and body stiffness.
What makes Pilates a good choice for Parkinson’s patients is because of its adaptability and focus on moving properly rather than quickly.
Do you happen to know anyone suffering from Parkinson? Just tell them to try Pilates…

If you want to have firm legs, a nice start to get your dream come true is early in the morning.
- Right after you wake up, stand beside your bed with your legs wide apart
- Bend your left leg while sliding the right leg a bit further to the side
- Keep your upper body straight and abs in
- Then slowly slide right foot back to the starting position
- Repeat 8-16 times
- Switch legs
This exercise is so easy that you can even do it while making your morning coffee or during TV commercials.
All you need to do is promise yourself to do it then finally do it! Have you made one promise now?
By the way, if you have another way of firming legs, you can share it here…

Considering to walk to replace your gym session? You can. But make sure to check out these tips first…
If You Are Going To Walk For Exercise, Do It Right
By Mike Conley
It seems every spring I see so many people out walking to get in shape for the summer. They typically walk in a group, go for about an hour, talk about the kids, jobs, the parent teacher meeting last night, etc. These seem to be the same people that complain they exercise all the time but just can not lose any weight. Before you know it, the exercise routine is abandoned and they are right back to their old ways. Sure they may watch what they eat, but they never seem to come close to achieving the goal that started them down the exercise path in the first place.

Yeah…fitness party.
Yesterday I was invited to a party held by a friend.
“The dress code is Gym Session,” she said while calling me the previous day.
She mentioned nothing but that dress code. So, I went there with my running shoes and outfit. I thought it was simply a code related to any sports available on earth.
But, when I got there, I was totally surprised! She turned her living room into a gym! She got no couch there. The things my eyes could spot on were a treadmill, an exercise bike, a rowing machine, and a stepper. And, there were other 5 girls in their gym outfit.
“Hi, Nadine! Glad that you come. Surprise…surprise…I’m having a fitness party! Serve yourself on the bar, I have prepared healthful smoothies for you…”
And, she meant what she said about Fitness Party. Not only the gym equipments, she also prepared a workout DVD and invited a personal trainer.
Well, it was a great idea. But…I was expecting something more relaxing.
Anyway, it was really a great idea. I wouldn’t mind being invited again.

I did! Yes, I really did. I thought it was a boring kind of sport. And I even didn’t consider it as a sport.
But then, I had to change my mind about it.
My cousin, Elga, and her husband, Jim, invited me to join them in a golf course. Of course, I refused, politely, while thinking…what on earth makes them think I would love golf?
But the lovely couple insisted me. I had a bad thought that they were just trying to torture me (I didn’t get along perfectly with Elga back then when we were kids ).
Unfortunately, my Mom found out about it and claimed me as a very impolite cousin if I kept saying NO, THANKS.
So, I went. I hit. And, I liked it!
I felt so silly for turning down their invitation at the first place.
What makes me like it?
Well, golf is a kind of sport (yes, now I consider it as a sport, an interesting one, indeed) that needs full concentration. You have to hit the ball strategically and powerfully. A strong stamina and a great concentration are crucial.
Now, I am a golfer. An amateur. But who knows, maybe one day, I can beat Tiger Wood!
BTW, here are some things you need to prepare if you feel like trying to golf:
- A golf bag along with one set of complete set of golf sticks (golf clubs). These are not cheap, I know. But, you still can get the ones with good qualities and reasonable price. You only need to do a detailed survey.
- A pair of qualified and comfortable golf shoes. In the driving range, you can use any shoes but in the field, golf shoes are a must. Why? Because these shoes are specially designed to be grass-friendly. So, they won’t cause any damage to the filed.
- Golf balls, golf gloves, golf clothing and other golf equipments and accessories.
Have a nice try!

Getting a perfect figure is everyone’s dream. But, make sure you do it properly. Doing something that might cause harm to your body just to be slim is not wise.
To avoid it, this article is a must read.
Exercise and Bulimia
By Thomas Morva
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder. In the mind of a person with this condition, being fat is something to be afraid of. What a bulimic does is “binge and purge.” He or she eats a huge amount of food within a short span of time. This type of eating behavior is called binge eating. After a bulimic binges, he immediately purges himself of the food that he has just taken in. In purging, he could use different methods like take laxatives or other drugs. However, for most people with this disorder, vomiting is induced.
