While you are waiting for the result of a biopsy, you might be either praying and putting yourself at ease by hoping it’ll be nothing or you let yourslef drowned in fear and thoughts of death.
And, after you get the result and it is far from what you wish to hear, you’ll get devastated.
Even if you haven’t gone through any of those I mentioned above, I believe that’s what you might have in mind should you be in the positions.
But, do you know that there are people who can laugh out of it?
No, they’re not making light of the suffering inflicted by a deadly disease. Not at all.
“Many people don’t know how to deal with cancer, so by saying something funny, you can break the ice,” said Heidi Adams, who founded the Planet Cancer site. [news.yahoo.com]
But don’t worry, there are unspoken rules to cancer humor. So, noone will get hurt out of it.

Bono, the U2 frontman, is well known for his actions in fighting against diseases and poverty in Africa.
He applauded some African countries for their efforts to control malaria, which claims millions of lives on the continent every year.
What is Malaria anyway?
It’s a serious, infectious disease spread by certain kinds of mosquitoes. It is common in tropical climates.
It can be transmitted by a mosquito or through blood transfusions. It can’t be passed directly from one human to another.
A person infected with malaria passes through three stages of very distinctive symptoms:
- uncontrollable shivering for an hour or two
- quick rising of temperature
- sweating abundantly, rapid drop of temperature
Other symptoms accompanying above are fatigue, severe headache, nausea, and vomiting.

Are you having heart problem?
If you do, I suggest you to get a check-up on your heart before letting yourself sitting right in front of your TV to enjoy World Cup. Especially for those who get so attached to their team.
In the 1998 World Cup, the number of heart attacks in Britain rose by 25 per cent when England lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout, according to a study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ). [People’s Daily Online]
The above detail is my reason to the above suggestion. You surely don’t want your heart to stop if your team lose the game, do you?
But, I also have a good news for those who have heart problem regarding the world cup. On the contrary, it might even lower the death rate from heart attack.
During the 1998 World Cup, when France defeated Brazil in the final, deaths from heart attacks in men and women dropped on the day of the match. [HeartCenterOnline]
So, are you all ready for the forthcoming World Cup?

It must have been such a great news for Jesse and Amy Carlsen, parents of conjoined twin daughters, Abbigail and Isabelle, to find out that the nearly 7 hours surgery to separate them went very well.
According to doctors handling the surgery, the process was complicated but there was a 90-95 percent chance that these twin sisters survived. The team taking part in the operation consisted of about 30 people, applauding when finally the livers were seperated.
These great baby girls are now doing just fine.
But how actually this could happened to them?
Conjoined twins happens where thezygote of identical twins fails to completely separate. They occur in an estimated one in 200,000 births. [wikipedia]
Are all separation surgery successful like these girls?
The younger the twins get the surgery, the bigger the survival rates. Especially now with more accurate imaging studies and better anesthetic and operative techniques.
However, the operation is more difficult in adults than in children whose brains are better able to recover from the surgery. This was what happened to 29-year-old law graduates, Laleh and Ladan Bijani, the conjoined twins from Iran. The world was sharing grief for the loss of these courageous and brave ladies.

These days, you can find anytime information on how to live healthily. However, it just flows away like that right after you finish reading. You know but you pretend that you don’t.
From my point of view, that’s not how a person should live a life.
Yummy high fat food, tasty high cholesterol snacks, you can even find them in all over your kitchen. Wherever your head is journeying to, all you can find is food, the unhealthful one.
That is totally unwise and unfair to yourself. Only for less than a minute delight in your mouth, you put your life at risk. Well, if you think I’m being overreacted, I myself don’t think I am.
My co-editor, Riana Lance, had to face some extraordinary ‘moments’ to make her realize how important health was. I did, too. My Grandma had to suffer from diabetes and spent her days on a wheel chair out of amputation. That was a shock!
These days, I’d like to dedicate my life not only to my own health, but also others’. I’ve been collecting stuff regarding health than I can share with as many people as possible. This blog helps me a great deal on that mission ‘possible’.
I can post anything related to health. That’s important. I’d rather not see you all experience what Riana and I did, or worst, bethe victim of your own unhealthy life style. It’s heart-breaking.
Don’t wait ’til you get a shock to open your eyes that health is important. Open them now.
I’m not talking nonsense here. I just want to help.
I’m concerned. Now, it’s your turn.

The last 3 days, my friend, Julie, fell off the stairs. She hurt her right ankle. At first, (according to her) it wasn’t badly injured. But when I visited her after work, yesterday, it was rather blue and swollen as big as an apple (well, ok, I’m a bit exagerating ).
This morning I took her to the doctor. Actually I insisted. At the beginning, she refused going ’cause she thought she was fine.
From what I saw, she was far from being fine! She started limping while walking.
So, there was no other way, I told her my own experience when I hurt my leg a few years ago. And it worked. She finnally stop refusing to go to the doctor.
Well, actually it’s ok not to go to the doctor if you hurt your leg or ankle or anything out of falling, as long as…
- The pain doesn’t continue after seceral days of self-care.
- You don’t feel sharp, shooting pain at rest (sitting and sleeping).
- You can walk without limping.
- You can’t see or feel any deformity (possible fracture).
- You don’t feel unusual numbness or tingling in your knee, lower leg or foot (possible circulation problems).
- It’s blue and cold (possible circulation problems).
- It’s red and hot and you have a fever (possible infection).
I hope she and I’ll never have to go through that again!
