Healthy Blogger This Week!

This dear Mom has just gone to a doctor. She claimed that she had a problem with anxiety, guilt and worry.

But, for us here, she’s the healthiest person we could find this week. She’s our HEALTHY BLOGGER THIS WEEK.

Why her? Why we think she’s that healthy?

Why not? She made a good decision to visit the doctor. Only a healthy person can find out that she needs to visit one.

The unhealthy one is the one who denies that he or she is having a health issue.

So, for us all here, she deserves the award.

And, yes, Mom, we’re all here for you…

Hugs Might Heal

Death is not always easy to accept. Especially a sudden one.

My GrandPa passed away out of heart attack. And, it was hard for me to accept it.

It was summer, ten years ago. I decided to stay with my GrandMa for awhile. My reason of staying was to help her heal her wounded heart. But then, I realized, I needed to heal mine, too.

I spent the whole summer there. My GrandMa and I spent lots of time together. Most of the time, when we remembered GrandPa, either we cried or kept in silence while hugging each other.

I wrote once about Coping with Grief. I should’ve added hugs there.

I believe hugging can help during the healing and accepting process. It did me and GrandMa. We took out all the pain by hugging.

I hope it can help Jessica in Chicago, Illinois. She has just got some bad news that depressed her. Her colleague has just passed away out of heart attack, at the age of 50. Yes, that must be a shocking news.

It was, for me, when I found out the death of my GrandPa.

So, Jessica, hope you’ll stop crying soon. Get some hugs…

4 Minutes of Full Concentration

Your agenda today:

Meeting with a client for a new product presentation

Wow, you need to be well prepared. You’d better concentrate, too, to win your client’s attention.

Do you know that your breakfast menu can help you concentrate?

Have tuna for it’s rich in protein as well as low in fat. The combination is great to improve your concentration.

Plus, it contains Omega 3 that’s good for your brain function and heart health.

Successful presentation and healthy heart, why not?

Good luck! :)

Coping with Grief

It’s normal to feel grief when someone you love passed away. How can you not? You have to face the fact that you can’t meet that person anymore.

But, should you let yourself get drowned while actually your loved one is now at peace?

You shouldn’t. You need to move on with your life.

Epiphany in Baltimore promised himself that he’ll be better soon. You can do, too.

If you think it’s hard to do, these are some things that you can do to help you ease the process:

  • First of all, no denial. Don’t ever tell yourself that he or she is still alive, somewhere. You have to face the truth that he or she is gone. Otherwise, you can never be able to start coping with your loss
  • Second, you can actively grieve and mourn, but promise yourself that it’ll be temporary.
  • Third, talk about it. Express all the feeling you have inside. Let it all out. You can do it to a friend, family, group, counselor, or even to your pet if you don’t feel like getting any feedback at all.
  • Fourth, live a day at time. It will ease you in managing your feeling of loss.
  • Fifth, take good care of yourself. Maintain your health, both physically and mentally. If you need, you can get others take care of you.

Remember what Molière (French Actor, Playwright and Writer the greatest of all writers of French comedy, 1622-1673) once said, “if you suppress grief too much, it can well redouble.”

You Can Get Rid of Any Phobia!

Yes, you can. There are like more than dozens of ways on how to get rid of your biggest fear in life.

One thing, you need one important key to start it: your strong will.

Sometimes, your phobia doesn’t affect your life that much, like fear of bugs, ants, or cockroaches. But, there are also those that might give you problems like fear of elevator, flying, or crowds.

However, whether it gives problem to your life or not, you can try to get rid of it.

Before starting, you can check out which type of phobia you have.

There are three main types of phobias:

  • If you have a persistent, irrational fear of particular objects or situations, such as snakes, spiders, heights, blood, flying, or elevators, you have a specific phobia.
  • If you have a persistent, irrational fear of situations where you may be scrutinized or criticized or embarrassed by other people, you have social phobia or a social anxiety disorder.
  • If you fear leaving home, being alone, or being away from home in a situation where you feel trapped or helpless, you have agoraphobia. [webMD]

And, here are some ways that might help:

  • Get cortisol treatments - new study shows that people with certain phobia become less fearful if they take the corticosteroids cortisol or cortisone an hour earlier.
  • Desensitization therapy and relaxation techniques - both are great to treat specific phobias
  • Try Hypnotherapy - it allows for unconscious change to those patterns of thought. Conscious awareness of the original cause and effect, it simply gives you confidence when you realize you have created the thought that create the panic, so you can create another thought to interrupt the panic.
  • Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs, such as Celexa, Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloft) - they can be especially helpful in the treatment of social phobia
  • Face it - this is best for agrophobia, with a trusted person, get to the place and situation where you feel uneasy. Do it step-by-step, you will feel better during the process.

There are some that you can do it by yourself, but there are those which need some help from a therapist. Contact one as soon as you’re ready.

Anger is Good?

Actually, anything can be good, even bad things. It depends on how we see it.

Now, switch your anger into something beneficial.

Five Lessons About Anger Being a GOOD Thing
By Dr. Tony Fiore

Lynn, age 40 was in the luggage station at the airport with her sister-in-law. They patiently waited for the airline to find their luggage—as did her husband circling the airport in his car in attempts to transport the women home.

After two hours, Lynn decided to take action; she angrily confronted a supervisor, indicating loss of patience and incredulity at their lack of concern over the issue.

Guess what? Presto! The luggage was found within about 10 minutes with ample apology from the supervisor.

Clearly the angry confrontation “worked” in the sense that it got the desired behavioral result and there were no negative consequences or “costs” to the angry expression.

While anger is NOT appropriate most of the time, there are circumstances when anger expression is in fact the right thing to do.

Agenda for Your Stress

There are many reasons why one can get stressed out. It could be financial reason, or life itself, family, home, or work.

How work can be the reason, mostly, it’s because you can’t manage your overloaded jobs. You don’t know your priorities and don’t know either how to set these priorities.

Therefore, you need an agenda.

I’ve just read this great post by Seth Godin about setting your agenda. He mentioned the importance of setting an agenda and self-discipline.

So, start reducing your stress now by setting your agenda and make a promise to make it.

Take a Break?

Everyone needs to take a break. From work, from school, from life, as well as from blogs. :)

Blogging should be something fun. It helps you let out all your emotion and hidden thoughts. It’s also a good way to practice writing and making friends. Shortly, it makes your life even brighter.

Yet, some have their own reasons to take some time off. It’s not a big deal. If you love blogging and the community so much, you can get back anytime. And, you’re always welcome.

Life is complicated and simple in its own way. Let’s just make sure we’re not drawn in complication or being superficial by its simplicity.
